Myself, Dr. Nikhilesh Joardar, M.Sc., Ph.D. an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad MIT-World Peace University, Pune. My research spans parasitology, host–pathogen interactions, immunology, and antiparasitic drug development. I have previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Immunology & Microbiology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Department of Medicine (Division of Infectious Diseases) Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, contributing to studies on bacterial, parasitic infections and biomarker discovery. I obtained my PhD degree on antifilarial drug development and host-pathogen interaction from the Department of Zoology, Visva Bharati (An Institute of national importance). I have extensively published in leading journals, received multiple national research fellowships, and serve as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Neglected Tropical Diseases and review editor in Frontiers in Parasitic Diseases. I am a life member of National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi and member of American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH). My research interest is focused on exploring redox biology for novel therapeutic interventions in parasitic and infectious diseases and host-pathogen interaction.
