Dr. Surbhi Razdan is an accomplished academician, researcher, and mechanical engineering professional with over 29 + years of experience in teaching, research, academic leadership, and student mentoring. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune. She holds a Ph.D. from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Her research interests span vibration and noise control, system dynamics, sustainable materials, bamboo and natural-fibre composites, vehicle dynamics, electric vehicles, and sustainable engineering. Her research contributions include work on active pneumatic suspension systems, air-spring-based vibration control, composite materials, machine learning applications in engineering, and sustainable materials. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters.
Dr. Razdan is also actively engaged in innovation and intellectual property development. Her patent portfolio includes a granted Indian patent for a Solar Panel Cleaning Mechanism, along with inventions related to vehicle anti-theft systems, proximity sensing, bamboo processing, and bamboo-fabric-reinforced air springs.
Her academic work strongly emphasizes experimental research, practical implementation, sustainability, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has guided more than 60 undergraduate projects and around 20 postgraduate theses and currently supervises doctoral research in NVH and acoustic materials. Her current interests also extend to archeoacoustics and the scientific exploration of India’s traditional architectural knowledge, connecting engineering principles, acoustics, heritage, and sustainable design.
